Anyone interested in memoir writing is encouraged to attend the free workshop tonight, 6:30 p.m., with Al Ortolani, published poet and writing instructor. This event is part of “Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War,” a statewide oral history project to commemorate 50 years since the escalation of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Hesston Women’s Civic Club Holiday Home Tour

The Hesston Women’s Civic Club Holiday Home Tour will be Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Three beautiful homes – David and Dixie Sebits, Jeff and Marcy Thiesen, and Bob and Irene Stahly – and Hesston Public Library are featured on this year’s tour. Refreshments will be served in the library’s community room.

Ticket cost is $10, with proceeds to benefit the Hesston Community Foundation. To purchase a ticket, contact director Cari Cusick at the library at 620.327.4666 or any other Civic Club member.
