Anyone interested in memoir writing is encouraged to attend the free workshop tonight, 6:30 p.m., with Al Ortolani, published poet and writing instructor. This event is part of “Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War,” a statewide oral history project to commemorate 50 years since the escalation of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Join us for Seuss-a-bration!

Preschool through elementary school children and their parents and siblings are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a special Seuss-a-bration Family Fun Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Hesston Public Library, 300 N. Main St.

Various activities will be set up throughout the library, including Sight Word Bingo, a Book Walk, crafts, and more! Children will be able to move through the activities at their own pace and should bring their parents or other adults to the festivities.

Registration is required by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, by emailing hesstonpubliclibrary@gmail.com or calling the library at 620.327.4666. See you on the 2nd!
